About me

As an avid reader, I quite naturally gravitated toward working with texts and teaching English after my graduate work in English Literature at Concordia University in Montreal.

It's a good feeling when a document starts to hum to life as I'm working with a client to make the text even more clear and impactful. Equally satisfying is seeing a student gain confidence in their abilities and their future or seeing someone start to feel at home in English.

Below are some of the clients I have worked with over the years and the type of services I offer.

Students

ESL

  • English as a Second Language (ESL) students of any age.
  • Kids and adults describe me as a friendly, encouraging person. While we do study rules and practice implementing them, I focus on communication and confidence not perfection. I try to make every session enjoyable because I know how hard it is to work on learning another person's language until it becomes one of your own.

POST SECONDARY

  • I am enthusiastic about editing papers of students in university and can work in a wide range of disciplines.
  • Please note that I do not edit/humanize AI generated texts.
  • Each paper edited is followed up with a video conferencing call to summarize, confirm, and explain changes.

HIGH SCHOOL

  • My focus in working with students in grades 9 though 12 is primarily to help them develop their communication skills and prepare for university.
  • I do edit student (not AI) essays, but only while working along with students to help them think critically and effectively organize and express their thoughts.

ESL

I love working with young people in person and via video conferencing to help them clarify and develop their ideas and master general writing skills (including grammar!) Good communication skills go hand in hand with critical thinking. Investing in your child's ability now will give them a major advantage over their peers in their post-secondary education.
